Records of the case of the Ship Helvetia, 1846.

Records in the law suit brought by seaman William Johnston for damages caused when he fell into the ship's hold. The suit, against Captain Ezra S. Porter, was contested due to the fact that Johnston was drunk when the injury occurred and the ship had since been destroyed by fire.
